2025 WWI Action Bolt-Action Rifle Match

  • Registration at 8:30 am
  • Shooting begins at 9:00am

This is a remembrance match honoring our veterans of The Great War and other conflicts.

This match will be held on the rifle range, rain, snow or shine.

WEAPON TYPES — 

  • Any pre-1977 bolt-action military rifle (ie. Korea, WWII, WWI, Spanish-American, etc; including—but not limited to—CMP “Vintage Military Rifle” eligible) in as-issued configuration, of any nationality. Reproductions are OK. Optics (as-issued) are also OK.
  • Other bolt action rifles of any configuration (your 2025 PRS rifle? Sure!) are also OK.
  • “Style points” (towards Bragging rights) for rifles we haven’t seen in competition before—Bring out those old bolt guns!
  • “What about my great-granddaddy’s Chauchat from the war??” Sure, you can run it (*in semi-auto), but you might be in your own “unlimited” category.

EQUIPMENT — 

  • Bring stripper clips, magazines, chargers, ammo pouch, belt, etc. (there will be some available to borrow). Bayonets too, if you have one. (might be useful…)
  • Slings, Shooting Coats, Gloves are allowed.
  • Bi-Pods not allowed (exceptions made for some of the older shooters)
  • Please feel free to dress in period cosplay (WWI, WWII, Bolshevik Revolution, etc)

COURSE— 

  • This course will be minimum of 20 rounds fired for time against a combination of steel and paper targets at 50-100 yards from multiple locations. Senior shooters will get a handicap.
  • Targets will be steel plates, pepper poppers and IDPA/USPSA paper targets.
  • Scoring will be by time modified by penalties for misses.
  • There will be a time limit of 3 min. to run the course.
  • Ties will be broken by the age of the gun (oldest gun wins).

AMMO — 

Minimum round count is 20 rounds x 2 runs of the course—We may run the course twice if we have enough time. (no armor piercing ammo)

AWARDS — Medals will be presented to the best scores of the top 3 marksmen, high woman shooter (with minimum 2 women shooting), and high junior shooter shooting the As-Issued category. Top shooters in “unlimited” configurations will receive Grade A bragging rights.

(NO Top Gun points will be awarded, so bring what makes you smile)

Empty chamber indicators (ECIs) and eye & ear protection is required.
